Its crazy, driving through LAs Freeways + Highways you see 1000s of cars. People seem to live in the car ,as it is nearly impossible to walk.
On the other hand there are Hybrid cars on every corner. Last week was earthday and all windows are full of green items. Every magazine + every shopping center is stuffed with green commercials.
But our dreams did not come true. What seemed to be LOHAS paradise is mainly a bunch of greenwashing. Everyone jumps on the bandwagon and all the big guys /companys behave as if they could save the world alone.
We asked for organic cotton at famous Fred Segal on Melrose Avenue and looked exactly at the so called green shirt at Banana Republic which is one of the biggest national chains.Look at the PR which is big in the shopwindow. We found one simple tanktop and as we looked how this was made, we found only 5% organic cotton. This shop had at least 300 articles and only one small tanktop had 5% of organic cotton wow.
As most of my readers are from English speaking countrys i will write this series in english.
Arrived in Ventura CA after a long flight. Got our Prius Hybrid at the car rental and moved towards Ventura California near Los Angeles.Ventura is the home of our Distribution partner Stewart+Brown. Karen and Howard picked us up at the Hotel and we went to S+Bs headquarter near the beaches of Ventura. Surf and swim are just 200 m away and i would find it hard to work near such a beautiful beach.
Inspiration for next Summer+ Designer Karen Stewart.
Ventura Beaches
Ventura is also the home of famous outdoor company Patagonia which we will visit this afternoon.
Stay tuned
